Queen's Harbour
Overview
A bar top that anchors the entire room.
Queen's Harbour is a hospitality-volume bar built around a forty-year-old olive tree, with every surface designed to hold its own in a room where seating turns over hundreds of times a night. Solid Stone supplied and fabricated the bar tops and feature surfaces in Plutus, Rosso Levanto Turco, Verde Antico, and Marine Black — four natural stones chosen for the way their movement and depth read against the warmth of the room, while standing up to nightly service. Each slab was selected and laid out so the veining runs continuously around the bar, letting the stone read as one uninterrupted gesture rather than a series of individual pieces. The result is a surface that feels as considered under evening light as it is durable under daily wear — anchoring the room the same way the olive tree does above it.

The Brief
Queen's Harbour needed a bar surface that could handle hospitality volume while still reading as luxury, night after night. We specified four natural stones from Ciot — Plutus, Rosso Levanto Turco, Verde Antico, and Marine Black — combining polished and honed finishes across the bar tops and feature surfaces to give the room both shine and texture depending on where you're standing. Every seam was templated on site, rather than breaking at each slab transition the way lesser installations often do. The result is a bar that holds up to real volume service while still photographing like a design feature — proof that durability and drama aren't mutually exclusive when the material is chosen and installed with intention.
The Details
Stone built for service.
Beyond the bar, the same natural stone surfaces hold up to a full evening of plating, pouring, and service. The veining in the Rosso Levanto Turco and Verde Antico catches the light under every dish, turning each table into a small extension of the bar itself.
